How it works

Sign in
Use your IITH Google account — the one with your roll number. Add your gender and Instagram once and you’re set.
Pick your 1, 2, 3
Up to three people, by roll no. Their roll no. is the part before @ in their IITH email. You submit once — no edits after, so double-check.
Results drop
If someone you picked also picked you, it’s a match — you both see each other’s name and Instagram. If not, other students never see who you picked.
Random draw rounds
No match? Plot twist — you can be in the random draw. Each round tries to pair you with someone new, and you both get a few hours to say yes.

You get a few hours to check their Insta and decide. Only a double yes makes it official.
- No match? You go in automatically. Already sorted? Opt out, and jump back in any time before the last draw.
- Someone says no, or the timer runs out? You both go back in for the next round, if there is one — no awkward details.
- Never the same person twice.

Privacy & security
Your data is safe and secure.
Your data is safe, encrypted, and completely confidential. Nobody can see your picks, and your notes and Instagram handle are shown only to your match or partner. Nothing is ever made public without your consent.

- Your picks are strictly confidential and encrypted. Nobody can see who you picked — if it isn’t mutual, nobody ever finds out.

- Notes are visible only to the person you picked if the pick is mutual, and monitored by the administration solely for campus safety.
- Your Instagram
- Other students see it only if they’re your match or your random-draw partner, so you can connect before saying yes. It appears on the wall only if you choose.
- Names & handles
- Instagram handles are entered by each person and aren’t verified, so take a quick look before you say yes.
- Something off?
- Every partner card has a Report button. Reporting ends that match or pairing right away, and the administration reviews it and decides what happens next.

Who can join?
Any IITH student — any year, any program. Sign in with your IITH Google account (your roll-number email).
What if nobody picks me?
If you don’t match, your registered partner didn’t pick you or their pick didn’t register on softlaunch.site. Other students never see who picked whom, so there’s nothing awkward to see. No match just means you can go into the random draw.
Can I change my picks?
No — you submit once and that’s final. Double-check every roll no. before you lock them in. Their roll no. is the part before @ in their IITH email.
Do I have to pick anyone?
No. Picking is completely optional: choose 0, 1, 2 or 3 people. You can even submit an empty list and still be in the random draw after results. Once you submit, you can’t change it.
What’s the random draw?
After results, people without a match are paired at random in rounds — a guy with a girl, never the same person twice. You both get a few hours to say yes. Two yeses and you’re set; otherwise you’re both back in for the next round. Times can change — this page always shows the latest.
Who sees my Instagram?
Your match, and anyone you’re paired with in the random draw, so you can connect before saying yes. It’s on the wall only if you choose to show it there. Your account data is secured and no one else can see it.
Can anyone see who I picked?
No. Your picks and personal data are completely secured and encrypted — no one can see who you picked, and if a pick isn’t mutual, nobody ever finds out. The only exception is notes written on picks, which are monitored by the administration solely for safety and moderation.
